Description:
No sticking pins in factory harness, and taping it up. These kits begin as SINGLE HID as default and allow you to upgrade to Dual or Bi-Xenon.

Details:
High Intensity Discharge (HID) lighting is light from a plasma discharge rather than a filament. The system involves a ballast to start the light and certain gasses to create the light. Overall the system uses less energy than halogen lighting, while producing 3 times more light.

If you opt for the "DEFAULT SINGLE HID" lights your PCM will throw an "LIGHT OUT" error since there is no HIGH BEAM bulb present. Please keep this in mind when you place your order. We can only guarantee NO "LIGHT OUTS" on the (DUAL HID/HAL) & (Bi-Xenon HID/HID) kits.

How HID lights work - High Intensity Discharge Lights do not have a filament. Instead light is created from an electrical discharge between two electrodes in a micro-environment of xenon gas and metal halide salts. The light is emitted by an electrically energized gas -- a plasma discharge-- formed and sustained between the two electrodes.

The distinctive blue-white light of HID lamps stimulates the reflective paints in road markers and signs creating a safer driving environment. Additionally, the increased light output is designed to illuminate a wider area in front of the vehicle, improving visibility and safety, without disturbing the vision of oncoming drivers.

XENARC® HID lamps have over three times the lumens per watt of traditional halogen light sources and are more efficient at converting electrical energy into light. They produce at least 70 percent more light than traditional lamps, and use less power while producing less heat. This gives designers new freedom to explore the frontiers of front end design. By creating more compact headlights to fit smaller spaces, better aerodynamics are possible.

BULB TYPES & BULB APPLICATION GUIDE

With so many makes, models and trim levels of vehicles it is important that you check and make sure what type of bulb your particular vehicle needs. You can find the type of bulbs your specific vehicle uses in several locations. One place is the head light lens, the bulb type will be molded into it. Another place is on the bulb itself, the bulb type and wattage will be printed or molded into the base. The vehicle owners manual may also tell you what type of bulb you need for your head lights and/or fog lights. Our Bulb application chart is not always correct so please be sure to double check with your dealer or owners manual.

HEADLIGHT BULB CROSS REFERENCE

An H4 bulb is also referenced as a 9003 or an HB2. A 9004 bulb is also referenced as a HB1. A 9005 bulb is also referenced as a HB3. A 9006 bulb is also referenced as a HB4. A 9007 bulb is also referenced as a HB5. H.I.D. bulbs are referenced as 9500, D2R, D2S. H1, H2, H3, & H7 bulbs are usually referenced as such.

Use the bulb application chart to find the bulb type. Please double check these recommendations with those in your owners manual or check with the dealer. We are not responsible for errors in our bulb application chart.
